About Carevo US

Carevo helps families in the United States work out how care is paid for, and find home care, home health, hospice and senior care providers. We are a connection platform and a directory. We do not deliver care, we do not employ caregivers, we do not place residents, and we do not give legal, financial or medical advice.

Who is behind this

Carevo US is operated by Carevo Pty Ltd (ABN 69 696 950 919), the company behind the Australian Carevo site, founded in 2025. We have not formed a US entity yet. This page will say so when we do. The two founders run both.

  • Andre Smith, Co-founder & CEO. Co-founder and CEO. UNSW politics and commerce graduate. Navigated his father's respite and palliative care.
  • Buddhika Jayawardhana, Co-founder & CTO. Co-founder and CTO. 15+ years in software engineering, formerly at Coviu (CSIRO telehealth).

Carevo Australia identifies Antler and UNSW Founders among its supporters. Our work in Australia has been covered by Pulse+IT and Inside Ageing. You can check the company on LinkedIn.

What we have done in Australia

On August 26, 2026, the Australian Carevo About page reported more than 34,000 directory listings, more than 3,700 connections in the preceding 30 days and more than 9,400 suburbs covered. Those are Australian figures from the Australian site. The United States is new for us, and the provider data on this site comes from CMS and the NPI Registry, not from the Australian directory.

What we do

Two things. We explain how care is paid for in plain English, with current figures and a link to the primary source: what Medicare covers and does not, how Medicaid pays for care at home, what VA benefits cover for veterans, and when you pay privately. And we turn public CMS and NPI Registry data into pages that can be browsed by state, city and type of care.

Where our data comes from

Provider information comes from the CMS Provider Data Catalog, the NPI Registry and the Census Bureau. These are US government works in the public domain. Our methodology sets out exactly how that data is used, how rankings are built, and what it cannot tell you.

Dollar figures and thresholds come from CMS, the Social Security Administration, the VA, HHS and state agencies, and carry the year they belong to. They are held in one dated file and inserted at build time, which reduces the risk of one page keeping an old figure.

We do not invent ratings, reviews or awards. CMS rates providers and states license them. We report what they publish. Where we do not know something, the site says so rather than guessing.

How we make money

Carevo US is free for people looking for care. Providers cannot currently pay to be listed, to appear in a ranking or to receive a recommendation. There is no advertising, sponsored placement or paid ranking on this site. We have not introduced provider charges. If that changes, this page will explain the model and the separation between payment, directory inclusion and ranking.

Who runs it

Carevo US is operated by Carevo Pty Ltd (ABN 69 696 950 919), a company registered in Australia, at 6/11 York St, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia. You can reach us at [email protected].

What we are not

  • We are not a care provider and do not deliver care
  • We are not a staffing or placement agency, and we do not employ caregivers or place residents
  • We are not attorneys, benefits counselors or financial advisers, and nothing here is legal, financial or medical advice
  • We are not CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, the VA or your state, and we cannot decide your claim
  • We do not vouch for any provider. Listing a provider is not a recommendation
